I have a very good friend who is staying in Scotland for an exchange. She is living in small town called Paisley, 10 minutes by train from Glasgow.. Last months were tough, writing my master thesis and working on my projects was really exhausting and  during that I realized I don’t have enough energy to finish my master in time. So I bought a ticket!

Me and Jita know each other from the student organization Board of European Students of Technology and she invited me for a visit. So I made a 5 days long space in my calendar, bought a flight and she planned a trip. We spent 2 days in city and 3 days in nature.

First day.

I used Ryanair- Bratislava-> Edinburg

We had a meeting at 2PM in the city center, it was easy to find each other, she showed me some nice places there but the best thing was the called Arthur’s seat, where was easy to see whole city Edinburg, small hike took us about 40 minutes up and we had picnic on the top for more than 2 hours.

Late afternoon we took a Megabus to Glasgow for 1£ and then to train to Paisley for 3 £. Jita made a great dinner for us. Thanks again Jitka. J

Day 2

Plan was clear, get out from the city. We rented a car for 3 days in total price under 150 £. Price is not the cheapest but it could be always more expensive. Jita planned the whole trip and we went to Isley of Skye. Basically we went to the island and on the way there we visited some interesting places and made a circle around the island.

We booked an accommodation via Booking.com, found the hostel for 20.5 £/ night/ person. Which was the cheapest in area.

Day 3

One day hike. The landscape is incredible. Look on pictures.

On the way we found „Free accommodation“, so for next visit in UK we will use them.

I prepared a lunch for us, I learned this from my Spanish friends which I met on Erasmus in Slovenia. Basically it was a Tuna in tins with Olive/ sunflower oil. Put on top of una 2 layers of paper´s tissue and burn it.

The hike was for almost 10 hours, we do not know exact kilometers, but we really enjoyed it.

Day 4

We spoke in the hostel with 2 travellers from Argentina and we planned a trip to Patagonia. :-D it took as 3 minutes to confirm the visit. So we will see how everything will turn out. :)

We were about 400 km away from her home, so we planned to go home and on the way there stop at „někde“ for 3 hours hike.

She introduced me her Erasmus friends and we ate together in her favourite Pub, after that we were playing some games.. I refresh my memories from Erasmus. J

Day 5

Kings English Breakfast! Really good idea, we and 5 her friends prepared really tasty meal.
